Accessing Private Support Services
Option 1
Pay directly - we will work with you to determine the most cost-effective options for therapy when you don't have private health insurance covering therapy or are not eligible for the Medicare CDMP sessions.
Option 2
Pay directly and then get a rebate from your private health insurers - best to talk to them first before you book an appointment so that you know how much of a rebate you will have for each session and what the capped amount for payments in the calendar year will be.
Option 3
Some families access a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) through their GP. This entitles people who have a chronic health condition (6 months+) and require services from multiple professionals, to have up to 5 sessions per calendar year rebated by Medicare. You will need to book an appointment with your GP and let them know when you book it that you want a CDM plan as you may need a longer than usual appointment. Your GP will decide if your child is eligible under this scheme.
Clients are also eligible for an additional 20 sessions over their lifetime (total) with a rebate from Medicare if they have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. These sessions are required to be a minimum of 30 minutes in length and so must either be long sessions only, or an adjusted fee to account for a 30-minute session. Families can discuss this option with their GPs.
Please note some GPs suggest these sessions are free - as we DO NOT bulk bill they are not free sessions and will not cover the full price of our sessions.
Option 4
Access our services using your NDIS plan if you are self or plan managed. As we are not registered for the NDIS we can not provide support for Agency managed clients.
Option 5
Request our help to determine if your child is eligible for the NDIS through their Early Intervention Program. This will be a one-off session to support you in determining if your child would be considered eligible and to support you to begin the application process. At that time we will also discuss services using options 1-3 above while a decision is pending from the NDIS.
